Whether or not you decide to complete the 97-day kanji challenge, you will need to integrate the majority of the general-use kanji into your sight vocabulary.

You'll be pleased to learn that I have a very simple guide to doing this:

1) Complete the Vocab Mastery course.

2) Read a ton of NihongoShark grammar lessons.

We have set up all of our Japanese learning materials so that you get exposed to monstrous quantities of Japanese as it is written by native speakers. Our flashcards are set up that way. Our lessons are set up that way. Thus, if you do (and review!) those flashcards and read (and review!) those lessons, you'll be set.

It will take time, but you will start to recognize and comprehend words and sentences containing kanji without deciphering every little piece of them.
